The emphasis is on safety in this interactive learning module that reviews safety principles, demonstrates proper screening of patients and explains how to handle emergency situations. This online course describes how to quench a magnet and show you how to monitor patients during procedures.
MR Basics: Safety Essentials is the seventh in a series of 10 interactive modules that include the topics found in the ASRT MR curriculum.
You can buy the complete MR Basics curriculum totaling 13 CE credits or purchase any of the 10 modules separately. After successful completion of all 10 modules, you will receive a recognition of achievement award from the ASRT.
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
• Discuss the elements of safety management that help ensure a magnetic resonance (MR) imaging facility operates safely.
• Demonstrate proper screening and preparation of patients for MR imaging.
• Explain how to monitor patients during procedures.
•Describe when and how to quench a magnet and handle other emergencies in the MR environment.
